About SYS

Karen Beekman began SYS - Show Your Spirit in the fall of 2010 as a way to work with cheerleaders and to still have time to spend with her family. Karen previously coached the cheerleaders at Dublin Sells Middle School, Hilliard Heritage Middle School, and for 10 years at Dublin Karrer Middle School. She began coaching cheerleaders in 1997 as well as teaching gymnastics and tumbling classes since 1993. Karen is CPR and first aid certified. Karen provides an energetic, safe environment for participants to learn about cheerleading and to improve their cheerleading skills.

Polka dots. According to Wikipedia, "Polka dot is a pattern consisting of an array of filled, large in size, circles. It differentiates itself from the spot pattern, as Polka dots are perfectly even and sized, while spots are irregular in spacing and shape." Polka dots have also been used to describe a person's personality that is bubbly and happy.

At SYS, we work with our participants to help them develop their cheerleading skills like Polka dots. Our cheerleaders work to execute exact motions, level jumps, and precise tumbling while showing their bubbly and happy personalities.

SYS Tryout Results

During our 2021 tryout season, 100% of our cheerleaders have made their cheer teams!

During the Spring 2019 tryout season, we are extremely proud to share we had 96% of our cheerleaders making their schools' cheer teams! 48 of our 50 participants made their cheer teams and most made their first choice of cheer teams at their schools! Our SYS cheerleaders continue to sparkle!

During the Spring 2018 tryout season, SYS assisted 58 cheerleaders prepare for their school's tryouts at 10 different central Ohio schools. 95% of our cheerleaders made their school's cheer teams! Their hard work and determination paid off. We are extremely proud of our SYS cheerleaders!

During the Spring 2017 tryout season, SYS instructed 56 cheerleaders for 9 different central Ohio schools. We had a success rate of 96% making their first choice of their school's cheer teams! Way to go, SYS cheerleaders!
